Take Heart
I love my children. When they are worried, I tell them “It’s going to be okay,” because I don’t want their minds to be troubled, but to be at peace.
When they’ve hurt me or someone else, I tell them, “I forgive you,” because I don’t want their hearts to be troubled, but to be at peace.
When a bad dream wakes them up, I tell them, “you are safe, it’s okay to close your eyes,” because I don’t want their rest to be troubled, but to be in peace.
Jesus loves you and has some things to say to you.
When you’re worried he says, “It’s going to be okay,” because he is ruling on his throne in heaven working absolutely everything for your good. Nothing is out of his control. Let your mind find peace in him.
When you’ve hurt him or someone else, he says “I forgive you,” because the blood he shed on the cross has washed you clean. His forgiveness is unconditional and his love for you is infinite. Let your heart find peace in him.
When your afraid to fall asleep in death, he says, “You’re safe, it’s okay to close your eyes,” because he conquered death and so will you. He lives to see you in heaven. Let your rest find peace in him.
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
