Overflowing
Imagine if every time God gave you a blessing, a drop of olive oil fell on your head. I know it sounds crazy but, bear with me. Every single blessing, a drop of oil. Not just a drop for a good day, but a drop for every blessing in that day - the sun that shined, the grass that grew, the rain that fell, and the flowers that bloomed. Not just a drop for a good meal but one for the means to cook it, the tastes buds that enjoyed it, and a body that processed it. Not just a drop for the people you love, but a drop for every great moment you spend with them. Every life-giving breath, every magnificent scent, every beautiful sight…a drop, a drop, a drop. Every skill, every opportunity, every good memory, a drop, a drop, a drop.
Now imagine the sins forgiven and the peace in the storms, more drops. The Word that feeds you, the baptism that washes you, blood that cleanses you, even more drops. The trials that shape you and the joys that surround you, more and more drops. Every comfort at a funeral and every promise of protection, a drop. All evil he’s eliminated and the sorrow he’s exterminated, a drop. I could go on, but I think you get the idea.
A drop of oil for every blessing of every moment of every day. The flood of oil would be overwhelming. The biggest vessels on the planet would be overflowing.
You, my friend, are very blessed!
He anoints my head with oil, my cup overflows - Psalm 23:5
