Afraid?
I’ll admit it…I am afraid.
I look at my children and I am afraid of the world they’ll live in.
I look at the hate and I am afraid for people’s lives.
I look at the arguments and I am afraid there’s little empathy on both sides.
I look at the politics and I am afraid for our country.
I look at the family of God and I am afraid our language of love is lost in agendas.
I look at my responsibility to show love to others and I am afraid I have failed miserably.
I look at how many don’t know peace in Jesus and I am afraid they may die without it.
I look at all the chaos and I afraid there’s little control.
The list could go on…
When I am afraid there is only one thing to do—trust.
Trust the same Lord who is with me will be with my children in the future, should the world last that long.
Trust his angels, though unseen, are dispatched for protection.
Trust Christlike love wins hearts not arguments.
Trust the country is in the Lord’s hands, not the politicians.
Trust the family of God can refocus itself on love if we keep our eyes on the cross.
Trust forgiveness in Jesus is bigger than all of my failings.
Trust God has given me real peace and a voice to share it with those who don’t know it.
Trust no matter how bumpy the ride, God has never taken his hand off the wheel.
The list could go on…
Keep trusting with me!
When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. -Psalm 56:3
